La Bottega authentic, artisan pasta is lovingly handmade by the team at Vesuvio Pasta using fresh, wholesome ingredients, then packaged in Smoothwall Aspire gold trays by Confoil. Each piece is a work of art, with a taste to match.
Starting with ravioli, using traditional Italian knife skills rather than a mincer and quality Australian produce, Vesuvio pasta was born. Agnolotti, scialatielli and hand-cut gnocchi then became firm staples in their daily production.
Now, Gianni and his team make about 80 different pasta types and employ around 20 people. There are also now three brands – La Bottega which translates to ’the shop’ is the perfect name for the retail range; Vesuvio Pasta is the wholesale brand; and the recently launched Zero Glutine – is a gluten free range.
Vesuvio are also using the Smoothwall Aspire trays for freshness. The pasta products are not gas flushed as Gianni’s priority is to have fresh pasta with a minimal shelf life. Ward Packaging have a long-standing relationship with Vesuvio and have been instrumental in keeping the team up to date with the latest in food packaging.
Established in 2001, Vesuvio Pasta was created by Gianni Sportiello, his wife and parents after they migrated from Naples, Italy.
