SUSTAINABILITY GOALS
We are dedicated to improving the sustainability of the
business as well as the products we produce. We have
a number of sustainability goals and have measured
our current position in order to track our progress.
LOCAL MANUFACTURING
Confoil is a local, family owned and operated business who have been producing foil containers in Australia for over 50 years.
Being local means that we are able to be responsive to our customers needs, engage as an active part of our community and support local jobs. It also allows us to control our own destiny and make decisions to improve our energy use, manage our sourcing and reduce our waste and carbon footprint.
REDUCING ENERGY USE
We have installed over 2,000 solar panels on manufacturing site rooftops in Australia and New Zealand to power production. This reduced CO2 emissions by over 441 tonne in 2023 – the same as taking 96 cars off the road.
As well as producing our own energy and sourcing renewable energy, we are exploring ways to reduce usage throughout the business and run as efficiently as possible. In 2023 energy usage decreased by 6% compared to the previous year and CO2 emissions from energy use reduced by 5.4%.
WASTE REDUCTION
Through reuse, repurposing and recycling we have reduced our waste to landfill substantially. In 2022, 49% of our waste was diverted from landfill, 64% in 2023 and we are on target for 75% in 2024.
