For over a decade Confoil have proudly partnered with Foothills Community Care to tackle the social and environmental issues of food waste and provide a vital link in the chain of their Community Casseroles Program.
Community Casseroles is a program founded by two remarkable young women who wanted to make a difference in our local community. They saw the link between providing nourishing food and a social connection for those who found themselves in particularly difficult cicumstances and decided to take action. Community Casseroles is run under the umbrella of Foothills Community Care who do amazing things to support locals in our area. The program runs a monthly cook-up through a team of dedicated volunteers where hundreds of meals are prepared using rescued food that would otherwise go to landfill. Meals are lovingly prepared, frozen and then later hand delivered to anyone facing a hard time who needs a little bit of extra support.
The Community Casseroles Program typically delivers meals and a social connection to people experiencing domestic violence, illness, isolation, mental illness and addiction. We are honored to be a part of this wonderful and heart warming program that gives hope to so many. Over the years Confoil have enjoyed a fantastic relationship with Foothills, we have been priveledged to be able to donate food containers to help facilitate the program, provide fundraising drives as well as corporate volunteering opportunities so that we could experience and understand first hand what this organisation do and the great impact they have. We continue to learn so much from them about fighting food waste and about the issues our local community faces.
